Sir:
Why I joined Freemasonry? Maybe for several reasons.
First, as a young college student I always passed by a certain
building in Manila with the following inscriptions about its
entrance:"FREEMASONRY BUILDS ITS TEMPLE AMONG THE HEARTS OF MEN AND
NATIONS". What is that? I said to my self, but only in my late 20's did
I ever get the chance to know a Mason and his circle and was at once
confused and, at the same time impressed, by the manner they conduct
themselves within that circle. Everybody was calling everybody
"Brother."
Second, I realized that that I needed true friends whom I can trust,
People who will not look down at me when I am low but will consider me
as one of their own in happiness and in failure.
Thirdly, perhaps to find out what binds these men when they are so
totally diversed in terms of religion, wealth and calling.
And I did find out!
