Subject: Why I Joined Freemasonry
Dear Wor Bro Gary,
I was originally asked to become a Mason by my Father. He was a
charter member of the Delhi Hills #775 and I thought it was an honor.
In 1979 I entered the EA and stood to take my exam after waiting for
nearly 3 hours. after the wait, I failed terribly and felt I dishonored
my Father. I felt I could never set foot in that Lodge again
In 1993, a firemd asked about the fraternity and asked why I never
returned. This friend talked me into completing the degrees and I have
not regretted it one bit. On my Father's birthday, I was made a Master
Mason in due form and stood my exam exactly 15 years to the day since my
EA. In honor of my Father, I memorized both sections on the degree and
recited both without a miss. When I finished, I broke down and cried
because my Father had passed away April 25, 1990, I stood my exam March
25 1994 and received my 32' on April 25,1994. On both occasions I felt
my Father's presence and pride. It was a terrific feeling.
I have tried to hold office but have decided to wait until my
children have grown. Both of my Granfathers were Masons and I pray 1 of
my sons become a Mason. It is without question one of greatest
fraternities in the world because of the work done with those less
fortunate.
Bro Bob
