Mr. Dryfoos,
My Grandfather, William L. Pressley who was a Shriner as well as an
active Mason. When I was 7 years of age, I started asking questions
about where my Grandfather went every other Tues. and Thurs. Nights.
All of course that he could tell me was that it was called Lodge. I did
not understand it then but I do now as a Mason myself.
(Getting back to the story) every night that I stayed at my Grandparents
house and my grandfather would come in, Very Late at night and start to
put away his Shriner apparel. I would always ask him what it was for,
and he always would reply, "Maybe when you are older we will talk about
it."
My Grandfather unfortunately passed away in the summer of 1997. I have
just recently became a Mason this past Saturday, July the 6th, 2002. I
know that he would be proud of me, for what I have done and how I have
done it.
But to anyone asking "WHY I JOINED FREEMASONRY" I will say this, It is a
Honor and a Privilege to call myself a Mason. I was told this before I
joined... Take a ONE DOLLAR BILL and look on the back of the Bill...
Read the Four words that are printed above the ONE... if you are asking
what they are...
IN GOD WE TRUST
That is why I William M. Cannon Joined freemasonry. It is based in God
and there can be no Evil from God.
