Excellence is a part of the ongoing development of the MIT community. Each year, individuals and teams make a real difference in student life at MIT. The Division of Student Life hosts or contributes to a variety of opportunities to recognize excellence and commitment. On-The-Spot Recognition Program
On-The-Spot Recognitions are thank you notes accompanied small tokens of appreciation. The purpose is to instill a culture of appreciation among the staff of DSL. It represents immediate appreciation for the contributions of individuals and teams and to say thank you to our staff when they model behavior that furthers the mission and enhances the reputation of DSL.

Infinite Mile Awards
Part of MIT's Recognition and Rewards Program, the Infinite Mile Awards recognize employees (both individuals and teams) for their exceptional contributions to their office, department, school, or the Institute as a whole. The Program is designed to help foster an environment of shared success and commitment and, to showcase employees as role models.

MIT Excellence Awards
Held each year, the Excellence Awards are the Institute-wide component of MIT's Recognition and Rewards Program. The Excellence Awards focus on recognizing MIT service, support, administrative, SRS staff, and faculty/other academics

Institute Awards Convocation
Each May, through the Awards Convocation, the MIT community gathers to honor its faculty, students, staff, and friends who have contributed significantly to student life and learning.

Student Leaders Recognition Reception
Hosted each May by the Student Activities Office, the reception recognizes student leaders who dedicate many hours of service to their community.
