Shipping
The MIT field camp owns two large Pelican
1620 model cases for shipping electronic equipment to Las
Vegas for field camp.
The cases have customizable foam inserts, and these have been arranged
to accommodate a variety of field camp gear.
One case holds 2 laptops, the scanner, both printers, and assorted
extras, such as the CD case, power and USB cords, printer heads, ink cartridges,
and computer manuals. The other case is designed for the iPAQs and will holds up to a dozen iPAQs
in their cases, along with GPS cards, external antennas, USB cradles, and
assorted peripherals. As the field
camp expands, additional cases may need to be purchased. At the moment, extra laptops, digital cameras,
etc., are carried by field camp attendees. The cases are stored in Clark Burchfiel’s lab.
