Using Toshiba's Bluetooth PC Card on Windows 9x/ME/2000

The Toshiba Bluetooth PC Card comes with a copy of Digianswer's Bluetooth Software Suite. After Installing the Bluetooth Software Suite, a "Bluetooth Neighborhood" icon should appear on your screen, this program is the main way to communicate with your card.

Bluetooth Neighborhood will open in a normal file explorer browser with the exception that it lists the Local Services and Profiles on the left-hand side of the window and that a "Bluetooth" option has been added to the menu.

To search for other Bluetooth devices in the area, click the "Bluetooth" button in the menu and then "Device Discovery". Device Discovery is not done automatically so you should run this everytime you suspect that a knew Bluetooth device is in the area and you want to connect to it. Once Device Discovery has completed a list of neighboring Bluetooth devices will be shown.

To get a list of the services offered by a particular remote device simply double click on it.

To connect to any one of the remote devices, simply drag the icon of the desired local service with which you wish to connect with and drop it on the desired remote device.

If you wish to add a COM port to the list of local services you will need to go to Start Menu > Programs > Bluetooth Software Suite > Bluetooth Configuration Tool. Here you can add any COM port you want and assign local services to it by checking the box next to the service in the right half of the window. I'm not sure if this is a design feature or a bug in the program, but you may not see the new COM port in the list of local services unless you remove the COM port that is currently there through the configuration tool.
