Delta Upsilon - Our House

Our home is a six-story brownstone building located directly across from MIT and is ideally situated in the middle of Boston 's beautiful and historic Back Bay . The ten minute walk to campus serves as an excellent buffer between us and the everyday stress of classes. Our placement is straight down Massachusetts Avenue , across the Charles River and in the heart of the Boston University community, and allows us ample opportunity to interact socially with many students from different schools and to enjoy the diverse cultural atmosphere the city provides. Click here for a map of the area.

We own and maintain the house ourselves, often undertaking self-improvement projects to ensure that our home is a comfortable one. Our roof deck, which we designed and built ourselves, is a great place to relax in the sun or enjoy a beautiful view of Boston and the Charles River . The house has fifteen bedrooms, five bathrooms, and numerous side rooms and common areas.

Despite our self-reliant nature, our house bill, which includes the price of meals, rooms, and social activities, is just about the same price as that of an MIT dormitory. We have our own washers and dryers, and our fully stocked, modern kitchen is always open to the brotherhood and friends. Here, brothers can prepare food on their own terms, making good use of our complete sandwich bar and walk-in refrigerator. We also have lunch and dinner 5 days a week, cooked by our esteemed chef Dave Zeno, who has been tending to the brotherhood for over a decade.

Our most recent renovation added gigaspeed LAN and draft-N wireless routers throughout the house. Our two study areas include six new, high-powered iMacs, a multi-terabyte server, and a complete archive of study materials and textbooks. Our two common areas on the first and second floors have been recently renovated, giving us modernized living accommodations while retaining the sense of tradition that comes from living in a building that Delta Upsilon has occupied for over eighty-five years.

More importantly though, 526 Beacon Street is our home, where we are able to relax, work, play, study, and most of all, enjoy the brotherhood that comes with being a member of the Technology Chapter of Delta Upsilon.
