The bulk of the endowment for the prize will come from Bern Shen, but contributions will be welcomed from others. A subcommittee of CASTAC consisting of Hess, Dumit, Downey, Suchman, and Hakken has put together proposed wording for the prize. If you would like to contribute to deliberations on the wording for the prize, would you please contact me with your suggestions? The proposed wording is attached below. Thanks, David Hess Chair, CASTAC The Diana Forsythe Prize shall be given to celebrate the best book or series of published articles most in the spirit of Diana's Forsythe's feminist anthropological research on work, science, and/or technology, including biomedicine. The prize will be awarded annually. It will consist of a cash amount and a certificate. The committee awarding the prize will consist of three members, two from CASTAC (or its successor organization) and one from SAW (or its successor organization), with the understanding that among the the members research in the fields of science, technology, and work will be represented. The prize will be considered a joint prize of CASTAC and SAW.
