We don't have a req for this job yet, but we are beginning to "beat the bushes". If you or anyone you know is interested, contact me at john_sherry@ccm.jf.intel.com The End User Driven Concepts Group at Intel Corporation has a position possibly opening up for an anthropologist or similar researcher with ethnographic field experience. The position would include ethnographic research of varying degrees of intensity and duration, in a variety of settings (primarily limited to settings within the U.S.). The research is "applied" with an emphasis on generating ideas for new uses of computing power. We are looking for someone who has the ability to work on multi-disciplinary teams, interacting with engineers, marketing professionals, and others who do not have experience with ethnographic methods, theory or perspectives, and whose goal is the design of new types of computing products. Work would be based out of Intel's Architecture Labs in Hillsboro, Oregon.
