Newly Established MUSIC Advisory Board Meets at MIT

Professor Larry Vale and Dean Adele Santos have announced the appointment of an Advisory Board to help guide the development of the MIT-USGS Science Impact Collaborative.  This 11 member group includes a number of former federal agency heads, private sector entrepreneurs, and well known university faculty members who will assist with the on-going effort to build an endowment for the program.  The members include:  

Marina Alberti, Associate Professor of Urban and Environmental Planning in the Department of Urban Design and Planning at the University of Washington
Radha Basu, Entrepreneur and Humanitarian
Chip Groat, founding director of the Center for International Energy and Environmental
Policy at the University of Texas at Austin
Sheila Jasanoff, Pforzheimer Professor of Science and Technology Studies at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government
Candace Johnson, Entrepreneur and Satellite System Pioneer
Roger Kennedy, Former Director of the National Park Service and the National Museum of American History
Patrick Leahy, Executive Director of the American Geological Institute
William Moomaw, Professor of International Environmental Policy at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University
Jerry Schubel, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Aquarium of the Pacific
Walter Sleeth, Former Hi-Tech Industry Executive
Edward Warner, Conservationist and Educator

The Board, chaired by Wally Sleeth, met for the first time in September.
