Si bien la ciudad de México aún no ha llegado a la bancarrota hídrica, la crisis que se ha vivido en los últimos meses puede ser vista como la culminación de pequeños episodios que sucedían en la ciudad cada época de estiaje en los que el agua no llegaba a algunas colonias o era racionada. MIT STUDENTS ADVISE COLOMBIAN MAYOR AS PART OF IDG PRACTICUM COURSE

In Loma Fresca, a poor hillside neighborhood in the City of Cartagena, Colombia, residents live among rumors of relocation. In Bazurto, the city's central market, merchants compete with cars and bikes for scant space. Both of these areas are on the agenda of the recently elected Mayor, Judith Pinedo, and both are likely to undergo profound transformation in the short term. But what should this transformation imply? Ten Master in City Planning students from MIT, and their local partners from Universidad Tecnologica de Bolivar (UTB) spent the fall and IAP [January term] thinking about alternatives.
