Political Power and Social Theory is an annual review published by Elsevier Press committed to advancing our interdisciplinary, critical understanding of the linkages between class relations, political power, and historical development. The journal welcomes both empirical and theoretical work and is willing to consider papers of substantial length (up to 80 pages). By publishing manuscripts based on original research that challenge conventional theoretical assumptions, the journal opens a space of inquiry and debate that crosses disciplinary and geographic boundaries and appeals to a broad range of social scientists as well as area specialists. Edited by Diane E. Davis, Professor of Political Sociology at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, this permanent forum for ideas not only fills the gap between quarterly publications and monographs, but also reveals the passionate engagement of scholars today with the social transformations in the world around them.

Political Power and Social Theory is proud to have published several award-winning articles and contributions from a range of award-winning scholars including Adolph Reed, Jr, Ian Roxborough, Uday Mehta, John D. French, Dahlia Sabina Elazar, Giovanni Arrighi, and Beverly Silver; Scholarly Controversies featuring the work of Alejandro Portes, Edna Bonacich, Richard Sennett, Ann Laura Stoler, Saskia Sassen, Walter Goldfrank and Peter Evans; and to include among its contributors and editorial board members such distinguished scholars as Ronald Aminzade, Michael Schwartz and Charles Tilly.

Publication decisions are made by the editor, in consultation with members of the editorial board and anonymous reviewers. Potential contributors should read the submission guidelines, and then direct inquiries and/ or manuscripts to the address below.
