We did however, find the phone working when we investigated the report. In the case that the phone was intermittenly working, we replace a cable that provides the dial tone. In the future, could you pleas send email to 5help@mit.edu to expedite the repair of the phone. You are absolute correct in that it is important that these phones are working at all times. More specifically during commencement and other special times when visitors are on campus. Note: All lobby phones are set up to make calss within MIT only. company and it does not allow calls from outside MIT to terminate at the lobby locations. If someone was waiting for a call, they may have thought something was wrong with the phone. This may have been what the repairman thought the problem was when you reported the problem the first time. Mainly because there was dial tone. Again, Thank you for taking the time to report this problem. We appreciate your concern and assistance in this matter! Thank you, Louise (Telecom 3-7867)
