Students eligible for the award are MIT seniors graduating in June and MIT graduate students. CANDIDATES MUST BE NOMINATED BY AN MIT FACULTY MEMBER. Nomination forms and guidelines are being distributed to all MIT faculty tomorrow. If you would like to be nominated, we recommend you alert your faculty mentors of this opportunity. Faculty may nominate more than one student. To nominate a candidate, faculty are asked to submit five copies of the following: (1) nomination form; (2) two letters of recommendation from other MIT faculty; and when relevant, (3) one or two 8.5" x 11" page(s) of photos/diagrams of the candidate's work. SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 4PM, FRIDAY, MAY 19, 1995. The winner will be announced June 6th. The Lemelson-MIT Student Prize is one part of the Lemelson-MIT Prize Program which includes the $500,000 national Lemelson-MIT Prize for Invention and Innovation; the Jerome and Dorothy Lemelson Professorship (Currently held by economist Lester C. Thurow.); and the Lemelson Doctoral Fellowships supporting the study of invention, innovation and/or entrepreneurship.
