Shows the great dedication of those involved, and everyone's willingness to work hard to make this happen. Georges Drouin gets the long distance award again--trekking all the way from Montreal for the afternoon meeting. Amazing. And, we even accomplished something. After our customary go-round about purpose (reiterating, refining, and refreshing why we're doing this), we went into break-out groups to nail down details. In short, the agenda group made revisions to the day's plan aimed at increasing the collaborative aspects of the agenda (feel free to upload the agenda to this list, oh Great Agenda Makers). The logistics group waded through all the fine points that will make for a flawlessly executed event--how to set the chairs, where registration will take place, how the food will be set out, and on and on and on. The invitation group suggests the following--feel free to invite people ASAP, being sure to give names and addresses to Cathy Cordes (ccordes@world.std.com). People's names will be entered in the database WHEN THEY REGISTER. This will form the directory that will be distributed at the event. YOU MUST REGISTER IF YOU'RE PLANNING TO COME and EVERYONE IS ENCOURAGED TO PAY THEIR OWN REGISTRATION FEE. Reduced fees are acceptable from anyone who needs to pay less. "Cash Sponsors," the ones making cash contributions, are each allotted 3 seats--and you too must register. If you want to send out more invitations but are overwhelmed by the logistics of copying letters, etc., tell us-- message me here, call our office (617/965-3340), or call or message Cathy Cordes (617/275-5258). We'll be happy to help. Each registrant will receive a "Decide to Network" postcard with their confirmation of registration printed on it. At the event, each participant will receive: a nametag (we're really smart, aren't we, thinking of this); a directory of all participants (which we'll publish an addendum to at the event for distribution there); an agenda for the day; and a copy of THE ATLANTIC MONTHLY with Peter Drucker's article. We're also putting together a list of sponsors, with descriptions, and a list of organizers--that's us, folks. Finally, we shall meet again....one last time: Wed, Jan. 11, 1-4 PM, at The Computer Museum. And, we're slated for one more community building dinner at Jeff's and my house on Thurs, Jan. 5. Question to the group: should we push this back a week to Jan. 12 to provide some holiday recovery time? Thanks again to The Computer Museum for hosting our last meeting, our next one, and THE BIG ONE. That's a thanks to you, John Marchiony. Happy holidays, one and all, Jessica
