Hi- Richard showed me your posting for a trained mediator to help out at the King Open School. Did you get any responses? The reason I am asking it that our son, Zinky, seems to be getting in a great deal of trouble these days. I find that Lynne Moore takes a very tradtional approach with negative types of punishment and that a kid like Zinky who is contending with pre-adolescence and a variety of learning disabilities that color his social behavior is not learning from this more traditional "time out" type of punishment. I would like to see each social error which is getting him in trouble be an opportunity to teach rather than punish and I view mediation as a constructive means. I would like to propose to Lynne after the most recent incident that Zinky and the boy who is accusing him go through a mediation session. One drawback for Zinky is that he doesn't write very well, and would need assistance with any writing. any suggestions? Nancy Gardner
