About that time he was heard by the author singing, while jumping up and down
like a small child:
"Kipello, kipello, kipello emis, ki esi lae tou Ari na pas na ..."
Then president of PAOK, Giorgos Pandelakis, offered on behalf of the team
500,000 drachmas (definitely less than $10,000 in 1984) to all players
together as a bonus for winning the Cup. It was not before 1987 that Greek
basketball moved up to a different financial level that made such monetary
amounts sound like peanuts.
