Site Nine: Indefensible Structures
The project is the development of a new building material. The material is a hybrid between cement, its common aggregates, and various forms of petroleum. These materials, although not meant to be combined do so under the project resulting in a material that regulates its own destruction rather creating a program of sustainability. The building material will be used in the construction of facilities in regions that are both rich in natural resources, including crude oil, and under the duress of armed conflict. Somehow, someway, in this world, the development of a building whose vulnerabilities only increase when constructed from flawed materials in a zone of conflict would defer attention from the shortcomings of the architecture, focusing rather on the flawed political climate; begging it to change.
