Early Constructions    1999 - 2002
The early constructions were steel, wax, wood, plaster, cement, and ceramics all bound together in the most rudimentary way. The process of making the early sculptures involved dropping my hands and arms into vats of concrete and plaster, slightly burning my arms due to the caustic nature of the materials. At the same time a permanent connection is developed between the construction and the author, during the process of the birth of a sculpture, no matter how the outcome is, expected or unexpected. Both the author and sculpture will simultaneously degrade over time.
