our center
The Edgerton Center was named for Institute professor Harold "Doc" Edgerton, known for his fun with strobe experiments. Our
Outreach Program has grown from demonstrations with strobe lights and high-speed video, to include almost any topics that will allow students to have some hands-on fun.

Engineering Design Workshop

Students in this hands-on, self-motivated class for rising 9th- 12th graders will work in small teams to design, build, and test engineering projects. High school students will get to use many of the same tools and materials as MIT students. The class builds on students’ math and science abilities and will use basic principles of engineering, problem solving, and design. Short lessons on interesting engineering topics will add to the project-based experience.

The Engineering Design Worskhop will run:
July 9 -August 3, , 9:00-12:30 daily.
