This activity is appropriate for children ages 11 and up.
This activity includes the use of soldering irons.
Due to the cost of the electrical components required, we ask for $15 per student as a materials fee.
In this activity, students become electrical engineers! Students use the same tools engineers use to construct their own traffic lights. This activity will show the basics of electrical circuits and components, including capacitors, timing chips and potentiometers. It illustrates how these components work individually as well as how they work together. Students will also learn electrical component vocabulary, how to read schematics, and how to construct and test simple circuits.
