You GO Girl !is a four day summer program at the MIT Edgerton Center designed for girls entering the 9th grade in the fall. 

You GO Girl
! will run again in the summer of 2013 - Monday, August 5 - Thursday, August 8(no session on August 9th.)
You GO Girl Logo
Our program is designed as an introductory view to a wide variety of science and engineering strands. Any girl who can commute to our program is eligible to attend. There is a suggested materials donation of $40. 2013 will mark the sixteenth year that the Center has sponsored You GO Girl!

The application process will open in March, with preference given to students in the Greater Boston Area. No acceptances will be confirmed until mid-March at the earliest.

A typical You GO Girl! day starts with an icebreaker or introductory exercise. The morning is spent doing a three-hour hands-on science or engineering activity,

followed by a brown-bag lunch. The afternoon is dedicated to exploration activities and an icebreaker or game to end the day.

* Motorized LEGO® Building

 

* Self-defense lessons

* Traffic Light Construction(an electronics activity)

 

* Workshop on Healthy Relationships

* Living LEGO® (a biology activity)

 

* High School questions with panel of current students

* LEGO® Chemistry

 

* High Speed Photography

You GO Girl! 2013 is now full. Only those partial applications already submitted will be considered for waitlist, and must be completed to be counted.
