You GO! Girl is a four day summer program at the MIT Edgerton Center designed for girls entering the 9th grade in the fall. 

You GO! Girl
will run again in the summer of 2012 - Monday, July 2 - Friday, July 6 (no session on July 4th.)

Our program is designed as an introductory view to a wide variety of science and engineering strands. Any girl who can commute to our program is eligible to attend. There is a suggested materials donation of $40. 2012 will mark the fifteenth year that the Center has sponsored You GO Girl!

The application process will open in March, with preference given to students in the Greater Boston Area.

There are TWO parts to the application process:
1) Parent/ guardian and Student application forms
2) Registration forms (permission, medical, etc.)

A typical You GO! Girl day starts with an icebreaker or introductory exercise.

The morning is spent doing a three-hour hands-on science or engineering activity, followed by a brown-bag lunch. The afternoon is dedicated to exploration activities and an icebreaker or game to end the day.

* Self-defense lessons

* Traffic Light Construction(an electronics activity)

 

* Workshop on Healthy Relationships

* Living LEGO® (a biology activity)

 

* High School questions with panel of current students

* LEGO® Chemistry

 

* High Speed Photography
