Program Overview
Achieving the seamless flow of data within the
petroleum supply chain remains a practical challenge facing industry.
With the expanding worldwide economy and refinery capacity constraints
within the U.S., the price of oil is forecasted to remain high for the next
several years. Looking out further, futures markets show a bullish
outlook for the price of petroleum with prices near lifetime of contract
highs.
Data will play an increasing role concerning the
efficiency of the petroleum supply chain. Ultimately improved data and
information about demand and inventory means better price signals and more
efficient petroleum markets.
This hands-on meeting will explore the details of
achieving data and supply chain integration within the petroleum industry.
Dave Brock and John Eul will be leading a discussion focusing on specific
technological aspects of data formats. The goal of the meeting is to
build a working forum for supply chain wide application of the M Language
within the petroleum industry.
Practitioners from outside the petroleum industry are
also welcome to attend this event. We believe that there is a great
deal of value in sharing perspectives about data management, collaboration,
and supply chain integration from other industries.
