Certification-typeMIT's local terminology for a sort of "license" required as a prerequisite for handling or working with or near a class of hazardous substances or equipment. This is linked to a group of required courses, signatures, examinations, etc. that must be completed before a person is given "certification" to work with a type of hazardous substances or equipment. Rules for who needs a certification_type are based on a combination of DLC, Function, Hazard-type, and/or Job title.

Job_TitleAn official MIT job title that is linked to certification and training requirements. Job titles for employees of the Department of Facilities will be useful for determining certification and training requirements. Within academic areas, job titles cannot be used for this determination; instead, we will use the more specific list of a person's Roles_within_facilities
