This is the basic Gradebook for Stellar. Students can only see their own grades. Grades can be whatever is useful to the faculty and students, numbers, letters, or written comments. The system will (eventually) automatically generate the headings, based on material in the class that is identified as gradable. The faculty can also add columns as needed (for notes on classroom participation, comments, or any other use).

The system will provide averages or other statistical measures in the future, for those faculty who are using either numbers or a simple alphabetic grading system that can be assigned numeric equivalents.

An Example based on the Formula One JavaBean. Using this approach has the key benefit of allowing faculty, TAs, and staff to develop gradebooks using Excel. They can fill in the numbers using the web-based version, and transfer back-and-forth between Excel and the Formula One Java version easily. Other examples show how we might provide a gradebook for the Java Revolution course recently completed or a different version of the original example.

This provides a description of the gradebook process interfaces being developed
