2.1.1 Audience

Primary audience: Expert but not intimate with details of your project.

  1. 621 instructional faculty (not just your advisor): This audience will assess your reports on clarity, theoretical understanding, experimental approach, creativity, and ability to manage your project. They will not tolerate jargony shorthand statements or unclear thinking.
  2. Laboratory staff: They will assist you in designing and building your test apparatus. They will carefully assess your experimental approach.
Secondary audience: Also expert but not directly assessing your project, or reviewing these documents in the future.

  1. Other 621 students this term.
  2. Advisor: Knowledgeable of her or his own projects, but not grading you. Don't be lulled into a false sense of confidence because your advisor seems to understand everything you say in meetings.
  3. Future 621 students who will build upon your work by studying these written documents.
