Announcements to the
MIT School of Engineering Community
8th annual Infinite Mile Awards
Award ceremony:
April 30th, 2008
3 PM to 5 PM
Grier Room 34-401
In concert with MIT's Rewards and Recognition program, the School of Engineering is preparing for its eighth annual "Infinite Mile Award" program to recognize outstanding contributors from among the administrative, support, service, and sponsored research staffs and, where appropriate, the faculty and academic staff.
The School has honored over 100 individuals over the last seven years. We have received overwhelmingly positive response to the awards program and to the ceremonies. I believe these have been truly inspiring and enjoyable afternoons for all who were present.
I urge you to give serious thought to those individuals or teams among your colleagues who deserve an Infinite Mile Award in any one of the categories listed. The online nomination procedure is easy. Nominations need not be lengthy, but they should be substantive. The deadline for nominations is February 29th, 2008. The selection committee looks forward to receiving nominations from now through that date.
The MIT School of Engineering is first in its class thanks to the outstanding efforts of its members, all of its members. It is important for us to pause to recognize, to celebrate, and to honor the people whose dedication, caring, and hard work make the School of Engineering a very special community. I look forward to seeing you on April 30th!
