Reactor Radiation Protection Program

The Reactor Radiation Protection Program provides radiation protection support for the MIT Nuclear Reactor Laboratory (see the full text of our Mission Statement for details).

Any person who plans to work or conduct experiments at the Reactor must register with our office and complete radiation safety training, including a web-based course and on-site orientation. To start your training, conduct a “ Training Needs Assessment”, being sure to select “Use Nuclear Reactor”. You will also need your supervisor’s signed approval for work at the Reactor. The approval form can be obtained by contacting the Reactor Radiation Protection Office at 617-253-4203.
