Research
Prof. Eppinger's research addresses the management of complex engineering projects such as the development of an automobile, aircraft, or telecommunication system. This research has used the design structure matrix (DSM) method and has developed several analytical modeling extensions to the DSM approach. Information about the design structure matrix method and our research results can be found at the MIT DSM Web Site. Currently, Prof. Eppinger's research explores how product development processes are being distributed globally and how such projects can be structured efficiently.
