Joining and Lesson Information

If you would like to join our team, check out the announcements page for information on meetings and other campus events. If you are a potential MIT student look at our prefrosh page for info on orientation events and visiting.

• The MIT Administration requires all members to sign a liability release form.
• You must sign the lesson contract and submit a deposit before your first lesson.
• Before and after your lesson, you are expected to take proper care of your horse. This includes brushing, hoofpicking, tacking, and possibly sponging or bathing.
• Transportation is limited at the moment. Lesson schedules will often revole around the members who have cars.

Before you take your first lesson, please print and fill out the Lesson Contract. You should bring it to your lesson with check.

You can expect each lesson to take about 4 hours. This allows time for transportation to and from the barn, riding, and horse care.

Procedure for Scheduling Lessons:

If you would like to ride in a fall lesson, you should email skatebro@mit.edu and indicate the following:

• Name
• Your schedule
• If you can drive.
• If you are new to the team, please indicate your previous riding experience

We will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks for your interest!

Procedure for Cancelling Lessons:

To cancel a lesson, you should send an email to skatebro@mit.edu as soon as possible. You must do this at least two days before you scheduled lesson so Kathryn can be notified in time to make adjusments.
