How do I apply this method to my own data?
You can download our SPM toolbox here. The toolbox contains a Readme file which walks through the key steps for each type of analysis. The toolbox has a GUI interface but I would recommend using batch *.m scripts (a few examples come with the toolbox). An advantage of using batch scripts is that you have a record of everything you have done. Once your individual subjects' data are analyzed, running the toolbox scripts takes only a few minutes.
A few research groups have told me they are working on adapting these scripts for other fMRI analysis packages, but I haven't heard of anyone having finished implementing such tools. If I hear of anything, I will post the information here.
