Places to Study, Rest & Relax Are Essential to Our Community
Dormitories and gathering places like libraries and fitness centers draw members of the community together. Completed in 2002, the Albert and Barrie Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center, is a symbol of the vital link between physical health and the life of the mind. The complex includes an Olympic-class 50-meter pool, a training pool, an 11,000-sq.-ft. fitness center, and squash courts, volleyball courts, aerobic studios, and recreational basketball spaces.

Lobby 7 Restoration
In historic Lobby 7, light gleans anew from the renovated glass skylight onto the restored marble floor. The lobby houses a café, kiosks for campus publications, and informational displays.

MIT Museum
The museum received a much needed facelift to welcome visitors to the home of MIT’s hacks and history. Perforated steel panels clad the old warehouse-style brick building, and the entrance beckons visitors up a perforated stairway.

Hayden Library Entrance
The new Hayden Humanities Library entrance features an integrated service desk that serves more than 1,000 people a day. The 24-hour study room offers group study rooms, soft seating, study tables, photocopying, two computers, netdrops, and wireless internet access.
