Deactivate equipment
Items with an MIT sticker must be deactivated by the Property Office before equipment can be recycled. Contact the MIT Property Office at 617-253-2779 or email: property-www@mit.edu.

Smaller electronic media, accessories, and rechargeable batteries should go in Technocycle bins located in most MIT mailrooms.

For eWaste heavier than 50 lbs, you must submit a work request through SAP. SAPweb instructions:

  1. Select "internal provider".
  2. Select "Dept. of Facilities Services" as the vendor and in the "Item Note" field type MIT Movers
  3. Note the quantity of materials to be recycled. Supply an account number and put $1.00  in the price field. (You pay only for the Movers' time. Facilities will adjust the charge after the pick-up).
