Try a Vanpool and You'll Save Money and the Environment

The average Massachusetts household spends more on transportation than it does on food: 15% of its income, according to the State’s Executive Office of Transportation. So, why not reduce the amount you spend on commuting and join a vanpool? MIT has partnered with VPSI to offer a program that provides both a monthly subsidy and a pre-tax payroll deduction.

MIT regular salaried and hourly employees are eligible to participate in this program, but employees who are classified as temporary are not. Please note that employees may only participate in one MIT subsidized transportation program.

For details about the MIT/VPSI Vanpool Subsidy Program, see the list of frequently asked questions.

Download the Subsidy Enrollment Form to begin the MIT/VPSI Vanpool Subsidy Program.

To obtain a carpool/vanpool parking permit, fill out the Carpool/Vanpool Parking application and return it to the Parking and Transportation Office.
