Room Reservations
If you would like to make a reservation, arrange a site visit, or just ask a question, please contact us at 617-253-2111. Please confirm your reservation with a deposit and a signed copy of the event order within 14 days of the initial booking and no less than three weeks prior to the event date; reservations made within three weeks of the event date must be confirmed at the time of booking. There is a $4,000 food and beverage minimum revenue requirement and a $1,500 rental/set-up fee for weekend events.
Event Planning
A catering sales manager will contact you approximately one month prior to your event to discuss all details and menu arrangements; in order to plan appropriately for your event, details must be finalized no less than two weeks prior to the event.
Our Executive Chef creates monthly specials showcasing New England's freshest seasonal ingredients including produce, seafood and sustainable meat The Faculty Club is also happy to accommodate prearranged dietary, ethnic and/or religious menus. All menu prices are per person unless otherwise noted. If choosing a plated meal, you may select a maximum of two entrees (plus one vegetarian entree) to offer your guests — please keep in mind that the highest entrée price prevails for all guests. We look forward to coordinating specialty linen and floral arrangements to enhance your event. The Club features a separate beverage menu, which includes a wide variety of wine, bottled beer, and liquor.
A final guest count guarantee, along with final payment, is due three business days prior to the event. The final bill will reflect the guarantee or actual number of guests, whichever is greater. The Faculty Club at MIT gladly accepts MIT Requisitions, MIT Purchasing Cards, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, cash, and checks.
Service Periods and Labor Charges
All events are planned for a two-hour service period. To ensure the smooth execution of your event, appropriate staffing is determined by our Catering Department. Prices for all served meals and buffets at the Club include waitstaff for a two-hour period with appropriate set-up and breakdown when group minimums are met. Waitstaff fees will be assessed for receptions, breaks, and smaller groups where applicable. Bartender(s) are charged separately. Extended event duration, set-up and/or breakdown efforts are billed at $38.00 per hour, per waitstaff. Waitstaff and bartenders for non-inclusive events are billed $38.00 per hour, per server. Catered events outside of The Faculty Club will incur staffing fees for all required human resources.

Other Considerations
Food and beverage charges are subject to a 6.25% Massachusetts sales tax and a .75% City of Cambridge sales tax where applicable. Events held on holidays or holiday weekends will incur a surcharge up to 20%, depending upon the event. All non-MIT events are subject to a 15% administrative charge; this administrative charge is not intended to be a tip, gratuity or service charge for the benefit of employees. Please note that pricing and booking guidelines are subject to change; every consideration will be given should this be necessary.
The MIT Faculty Club is the only licensed authority to sell and serve food and beverage for consumption at the Club. All food will be prepared by our expert culinary team. In accordance with the City of Cambridge and Health Department regulations, no food or beverage may be removed from the premises following an event. The Faculty Club at MIT agrees to provide adequate function space and reserves the right to reassign the event to other rooms on the premises which will reasonably accommodate the event. No exclusive use of facilities is granted or implied.
Weekday Room Requirements
If the minimum food and beverage revenue requirement is not achieved, a room rental / set-up fee will be assessed in order to meet the requirement. Additional room fees may be assessed to accommodate extraordinary set-ups. Weekend events incur a $4,000 food and beverage minimum and a $1,500 room rental / set-up fee.

Cancellation Procedures
The Faculty Club at MIT provides space, food and beverage, and guest services for your event. As it is difficult and costly to resell the space that you have reserved, a cancellation fee will apply to any event canceled within 60 days of the event date. Every effort to rebook the space will be made by our Sales Team. When a comparable event is rebooked, no penalty will be applied. Kindly submit cancellation requests in writing.
