Celebrating Culture and Community Service at MIT

Monday - Thursday

CULTURAL SYMPOSIUM (CAC Program Board and IFC) - A mix of debates, speakers and different events tuned to highlight the diversity of the MIT Community.

WORLD CINEMA (LSC Classics) - LSC will show, FREE of admission, international films from around the globe, each showcasing the unique culture, history and politics of a certain region of the world.

SWING LESSONS (MIT Ballroom Dance Team) - Learn to swing dance!! The MIT Ballroom Dance Team will offer FREE swing lessons to all those interested.

Friday

MINI I-FAIR (ISA) - Celebrate Culture! Come to ISA's smaller version of its International Fair and see MIT students perform dances from their countries as you taste foods from around the world! Student Center Steps. 12 noon - 3 pm.
FALL FLING - Show off your new swing dance skills at the Fall Fling, a dance/concert held in Dupont Gymnasium, 9 pm - 1 am. Tickets are ON SALE NOW at The Source (252-1994) on the first floor of the Student Center. The Fall Fling will feature the WHITE HEAT SWING ORCHESTRA, a swing band originally from the Boston area. All are welcome: Undergraduates (all college ID's accepted), graduate students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Saturday
CITY YEAR SERVE-A-THON (Boston City Year) - Join over 10,000 volunteers in the Boston/Cambridge area in participating in over 170 service projects. Have fun giving back to the community! If interested, please email psomani@mit.edu.
THETA PLAYSTATION (Kappa Alpha Theta) - Dance. Video games. Free food. Prizes. Fun. All in one place, all in one night. Kappa Alpha Theta's annual charity event will support Court Appointed Special Advocates, a non-profit organization that helps neglected and abused children go through the court system. Lobdell. 9 pm - 1 am. Tickets available in Lobby 10.
