In 1997, MIT's Freshman/Alumni Summer Internship Program (F/ASIP) began with 20 students, a group of committed alumni and Professor Arthur Steinberg's vision. Today, F/ASIP is one of MIT's premier programs with nearly 100 students participating and internship opportunities not only across the country but around the world. F/ASIP is a truly unique program that provides training to first year students on how to get internships that first summer and how to be successful at those internships once they get there.

Student participants are also paired with a mentor, often an MIT alumni, during their summer internships. F/ASIP participants work in many different industries from Financial Services to Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, from Architecture to Applied Mathematics and from Intensive Research with faculty to Biotechnology. F/ASIP students are bright, capable and interested in a variety of fields and activities.

This site is designed to provide information to both F/ASIP students and Employer participants. If you have further questions about F/ASIP or would like to participate, contact us at fasip@mit.edu.
