COMPANY REGISTRATION AND POSITION POSTING
We suggest submitting your Employer Registration and Internship Description by mid-November to maximize your position's visibility among students.
STEP ONE: Register as a participating F/ASIP employer using our online registration form. STEP TWO: Post your internship position description online. The F/ASIP staff will upload this position into the MIT CareerBridge system for you.
For more information, please contact Rachel Greenberg, F/ASIP Program Director, at (617) 253-4733.
SUBMIT AN EMPLOYER CAREER TIP VIDEO:
Our students enjoy hearing from MIT alumni and employers about the industries they work in. In an effort to better serve this need, to educate students about some of the industries they are exploring and
to help you increase your visibility among our students, the F/ASIP staff invites you to submit a 2-3 minute video of yourself or another employee of your organization (perhaps an MIT alum). Videos will be posted on our website for students to refer to throughout the year, and should be submitted as any one of the following file types: wmv, avi, mov, and mpg. Please include in the video the following information: a brief description of the industry; a brief description of your professional background (including your major in college and your career path to date); a general career tip on one of the following: Resumes and cover letters, Strategies for finding an internship (e.g., employing multiple search methods), Networking, Interviewing, Professional Etiquette, Negotiating Offers, Presentation Skills, Workplace Dynamics/Interpersonal communication. If you are interested in submitting a video, please contact Rachel Greenberg (617-253-4733) for more information. HOST A F/ASIP EMPLOYER ON-CAMPUS LUNCHEON
The F/ASIP staff invites you to talk with a small group of our F/ASIP students about your company, your industry and your internship opportunities. This would give you the opportunity to discuss the benefits of interning at your organization, as well as answer student questions about the organization and your experiences in the field. These lunches are also a chance to make connections with F/ASIP students interested in your industry. For companies who post F/ASIP-specific positions, we take care of all the logistics and planning. We suggest late October through early February as the best dates for hosting these sessions. We are also happy to advertise similar lunches or other student outreach events hosted by non-F/ASIP employers to our F/ASIP students. If you are interested in meeting with our students in this format, please let us know. Interested? Please contact Rachel Greenberg (617-253-4733) for more information.
February - April
RECRUITING ACTIVITY
Interviews
will occur on-campus, via phone, or on-site. On-Campus interviewing room can be reserved in the Careers Office, Room 12-170. Contact Rachel Greenberg to reserve an interviewing room on campus.
Please notify F/ASIP staff when and to whom you extend offers, so that we
can make sure students respond in a timely fashion. **All salary negotiations
occur directly between the student and the employer**
PARTICIPATE IN F/ASIP MOCK INTERVIEW NIGHTS
In order to help our students practice perfecting their interviewing techniques, we will host special Mock Interview Nights on February 11 and 12, 2009. We are recruiting MIT alums, professionals and company recruiters to help us conduct these sessions in order to better simulate a real-life interview situation. Although all program participants could also conduct a mock interview with a F/ASIP staff member outside these designated Mock Interview Nights, F/ASIP students continue to find great value and have a more realistic interviewing experience when they do their mock interview with someone they do not know as well. This is an excellent opportunity for you to meet current students and directly help them hone their interviewing skills.
Each participant would be asked to conduct two mock interviews (45 minutes each) on one or both of the scheduled evenings. Dinner will be provided to interviewers prior to the mock sessions. Sample mock interview questions will be forwarded to you in advance as well. Interested? Please contact Rachel Greenberg (617-253-4733) for more information.
