WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING & WHEN

September 2009
- 15th, 18th, 21st, 23rd & 24th: Attend an Outgoing F/ASIP Student Presentation
- 17th: Visit the Fall Career Fair, 10am-6pm, Johnson Athletic Center
- Attend company presentations and other recruiting events
October 2009
- 21st: F/ASIP Orientation & Fall Social, 7:10-8:45 pm, 32-141 (Stata Center)
- 26th: Register for CareerBridge
- 28th: Review online “Resume Basics: How to Get Started” workshop
- 28th: Resume & Cover Letter Seminar, 7:10-8:45 pm, 32-141 (Stata Center) – bring one copy of resume and cover letter
- Attend company presentations and other recruiting events
November 2009
- 4th: Internship Search Strategies & Relationship-Building [aka Networking] Seminar, 7:10-8:45 pm, 32-141 (Stata Center)
- 4th: Update resume and cover letter based on what you learned in Resume & Cover Letter Seminar
- 13th: Receive feedback from your FAM or TA on your updated resume (and cover letter if you wish). Incorporate feedback
- 18th: Interviewing Skills Seminar, 7:10-8:45 pm, 32-141 (Stata Center)
- Visit walk-in hours at the Career Development Center (12-170) for a review of your resume
- Conduct informational interviews with students and professionals to learn more about industries and organizations of interest to you
- Attend company presentations and other recruiting events
December 2009
- 2nd: Attend Career Development Center walk-ins for resume review by a member of our staff. Incorporate feedback
- 4th: Upload your new and improved resume to CareerBridge 4th: Complete SIGI3 Fast Start Assessment Tool (accessible through CareerBridge)
- 4th: Complete your Career Exploration and Internship Search Plan
- 4th: Submit the following materials to fasip@mit.edu in order to continue in F/ASIP for the spring semester:Intent to Continue Form (to be distributed at Interviewing Skills seminar); Updated resume along with a copy of old resume; Career Exploration Plan; Internship Search Plan
- Conduct informational interviews with students and professionals to learn more about industries and organizations of interest to you
- Preregister for 3 units of SP.800 in Spring 2010
- Apply and interview for internships
January 2010
- Conduct Informational Interviews with students and professionals to help you explore industries and internship options
- Apply for internships
February - September 2010
