Try out for the team - No Experience Necessary
  • Tryouts for the 2008-2009 season begin on September 15, 2008, in the DuPont Fencing Room and continue on until the 26th. All students interested in trying out should email the men's team captain, Gabe Chan, or the women's team captain, Stephanie Shin, for more information, or simply show up for tryouts.

  • Experience is not necessary to make the team! We will teach you everything you need to know to make the team during tryouts.

  • Requirements are basic. Successful candidates must desire to train competitively and be committed to being a member of the team.

  • Athleticism is important, but most important is your desire to learn and train hard to improve yourself. Prior good fencing experience, while not required, is welcome.
Learn about the team, the sport
  • Not sure if you have time for a varsity sport? Not sure if you'd like fencing? Explore the links "tryout info" and "about fencing" to the left, contact the team captains to ask questions, or just show up at the Gateway or on the first day of tryouts.
Miss the first day of tryouts?
  • It's not too late! While punctuality and reliability are important, this early in the year it's never too late to try out. Email the captains Gabe Chan or Stephanie Shin and we'll tell you where and when the next tryout practice will be.
