The club was started by Peter Summers, Navjeet Singh and Jeff Starfield  as an off shoot from the Boston Ladies Field Hockey Association. The club was started informally in 1985.  Ash Patel joined the club in 1989, and with Jeff starfield and a few others , has been instrumental in organizing the club’s activities on a regular basis. The club used to play on grass at Weston High School, Dover Fields or  anywhere the club was able to  get a field.  The club’s relationship with MIT was official in 1991 and MIT provided the club with turf access once a week   

The club meets up to 3 times a week for pick up games. MIT has provided the club with access to both the outdoor turf and the indoor athletic facilities. 

The Minute people field hockey club is a club that is based in Cambridge, MA. The club is an official MIT affiliated club. The club is co-ed and is open to all regardless of age and skill levels.
