FIFS is an open-source file system development framework for Windows NT. It is free as long as it is not part of a commercial product. For more details on the license, see COPYING.

Unfortunately, this release of FIFS uses some SMB protocol header files from Microsoft which we are not yet free to redistribute.

FIFS: A Fremework for Implementing User-Mode File Systems in Windows NT, a paper describing FIFS, was first published in the proceeding of 3rd USENIX NT Symposium.
