Athena:

The nearest Athena cluster is in the basement of building 66. Type "tellme combo" at your Athena prompt to find out the combination for all Athena clusters. You will also become a member of the hall mailing list, first_east@mit.edu. Mailing lists are cool ways to communicate with the person living next door without ever actually having to meet them face to face. There are a number of first east mailing lists, most notably, 1e-discuss@mit.edu, the de facto list for flaming/discussions/ramblings/bizarre postings. To create mailing lists you can use moira, conveniently web accessible to a limited extent at http://web.mit.edu/moira.

Food (where to get it):

There are many places to get food. For the lazy folk, try Stata Dining in the weekdays and Pritchett Grease Grill in the evenings and weekends. Other on-campus dining places, roughly in order of proximity, are the Bio Cafe, Building 4 Cafe, Steam Cafe up inside the Little Dome, Anna's Taqueria, LaVerde's (open 24 hours on school nights!), Alpine Bagel, and Lobdell. All of these places take Tech Cash. Technically, you can also dine at any dining hall attached to a dorm, which probably take Tech Cash too, although I haven't tried. Of course, there are lots of other ways to get food that don't involve on-campus dining. The hall has a kitchen where you can cook. You can also check out the food court, Au Bon Pain, and Rebecca's, all located near the Kendall Square T stop, Bertucci's, Royal East, Toscanini's ice cream, Cinderella's, and other gems on Main Street, and Sunny's up by Random Hall. Another favorite is Mary Chung's in Central Square. But of course if you're just that lazy, there is always campusfood.com.
You could try checking out an extensive list of menus for Boston and Cambridge area restaurants.

Medical Center:

A convenient way to get an amputation done, also a convenient walk-through to get to the T. It is locked from 5 PM to 8 AM. It has a card reader, so don't forget to take your ID with you.

Massachusetts Bay Transportion Authority :

The T is in Kendall Square. Use it to get anywhere during the hours of 6 am to 12:30 am, the cost is currently $2.00. Cheaper than a lobotomy!
