Your Online Freshman Advising Folder
We have created an online advising folder to help you and your advisor keep track of information and testing results that may affect the advising process, such as Advanced Placement (AP), international exam scores (GCE A-Level, International Baccalaureate, etc.) and evaluated math transfer credit—which may or may not translate into MIT credit and/or advanced subject placement. The folder also includes results from the HASS-D lottery, the Freshman Essay Evaluation, and the Math Diagnostic for Physics Placement, as well as Freshman Advising Seminar assignments and Mission 2012/Terrascope acceptance
status.
Your folder is available via the link below. Please check your online record and confirm that we have your scores before you meet with your advisor for Fall Registration.
Accessing Your Folder
Your folder is part of MIT's Student Information System. Access to your personal academic and financial records is limited to you and MIT officials who have a legitimate educational interest (for more information see MIT's Student Information Policy). Given this policy, access to your folder requires authentication using MIT web certificates.
To obtain certificates, please go to: http://web.mit.edu/ist/topics/certificates/, then click on the "Get MIT CA (Certificate Authority)" link. Once you have obtained your MIT CA, click on the "Get MIT Personal Certificate" link. Then follow the "Get an MIT Certificate" instructions provided on the form to obtain your web certificate. Please note that the form will require you to provide the following information in order to create and validate your certificate: your MIT ID #, your Kerberos Name (otherwise known as your Kerberos ID, MIT username, or MIT email address) and your Kerberos password (i.e. your MIT email password). Note that certificates cannot be transferred from one computer to another; you must obtain certificates on each computer that you intend to use to look up your academic information.
Once you have certificates installed, you should be able to access your OnLine Freshman Advising Folder from https://sisapp.mit.edu/testscores/FFControl.
Please note: folders are NOT available between the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. EDT due to regularly scheduled system maintenance.
