Questions to Ask at Open Houses or Choice of Major Fairs
Here are some questions that you should be asking departments at open houses and academic fairs to help you determine whether or not a given major is for you.
- What do you find to be the biggest challenge of your major/department?
- What about this major/course interests you?
- What classes do you think tell a lot about the core of the major?
- What career options exist within this field?
- What are some of the resources to use to help me find more information about this major/department?
- What are the UROPs that exist in this major/department?
- What are the related campus activities and organizations that you have found match interests of students in this department?
- Do you think that pursuing a graduate degree in this major is advantageous?
- How big are the classes in this major?
- Are the faculty in this department accessible?
- Is there an undergradaute student group in the major?
- How many social programs exist for majors?
