Right Now This Term: Registration Changes & Fall Pre-Registration
You are responsible for making sure that your registration is up-to-date. You should check your status of registration on WebSIS to make sure that you are correctly registered for all classes you are attending and to ensure classes that you are not attending are dropped.
Adding and Dropping Subjects
Changes to your registration (Adds/Drops) must be made by the following deadlines:
- Add Date was Friday, March 7. This was the deadline for adding classes to spring term registrations.
- Drop Date: Thursday, April 24. This is the deadline for dropping classes from spring term registrations.
Students who miss the Add or Drop deadlines must petition the Committee on Academic Performance (CAP) in order to change their registrations. Petitions are available from the Petitions section of the CAP website or in the office of Undergraduate Advising and Academic Programming, room 7-104.
- Dropping an unattended HASS-D Subject: Be especially on the lookout for HASS-D subjects into which you were placed by pre-registration lottery, but that you later decided not to attend. If you do not drop an unattended HASS-D, you will receive an F at the end of the term, which can only be removed by petition to the Committee on Academic Performance.
- Dropping a CI-H Subject: Freshmen who did not take a required Communications Intensive subject during the Fall and are enrolled in one for the Spring may not drop the class. Any freshman who drops or fails a required CI-H subject will automatically be placed on Warning by the Committee on Academic Performance for Fall 2014.
On Thursday, May 1, you may begin to pre-register on WebSIS for your summer and fall semester subjects. You do not need your advisor to sign anything before you pre-register, but talk with your advisor in advance about what you plan to take.
See the Registrar's website beginning on May 1 for additional details. Instructions for pre-registering are posted on WebSIS when online pre-registration opens. Deadlines and late fees are published in the Academic Calendar.
