Welcome to Freshman Advising! Thank you so much for agreeing to advise members of the Class of 2016. We look forward with pleasure to working with you this coming year.
The First-Year Curriculum and Basic Advising Techniques
We want to make sure that as new advisors you have ample preparation for effective advising in 2012-13. These interactive meetings will give you a broad overview of the freshman year and advisor responsibilities before looking at the specific content of freshman advising.
Donna Friedman will contact new advisors to arrange these meetings over the summer.
All-Advisor Orientation
Plan to join experienced advisors and student associate advisors at the annual All-Advisor Orientation on Monday, August 27, from 2:30-4:00pm, in the Kirsch Auditorium. Faculty from the Science Core, Communication, and Physical Education will the various options for meeting their part of the General Institute Requirements. Opportunity for Q&A.

Throughout the academic year, please refer to this section for the list of meetings open to all advisors. We encourage you to attend as many of these as possible, both to learn more about advising and to enjoy the support of your peers.
