Information for First Year Instructors
The First Year Instructors page is posted by the Office of Undergraduate Advising and Academic Programming (UAAP) to provide curricular support to the Freshman Science Core and instructors of other subjects with heavy freshman enrollment.
We hope this site will facilitate better communication among the First Year Instructors by providing a centralized place where you can find important information related to the first year curriculum. Here, you’ll find links to information about the current term’s first-year instructors and subjects, quiz dates for freshman subjects, and other timely information, including meetings with the Dean for Undergraduate Education.
We are currently linking this page from the information for Freshman Advisors. You might be interested to look through the information and advice we provide to freshman advisors and to the Class of 2013 .
The UAAP contact person for curricular support is Donna Friedman, Assistant Dean, Freshman Advising and Academic Services, friedman@mit.edu, x3-9762. She looks forward to hearing from you if you have questions, comments, or suggestions on how we might better provide advice to freshmen and advisors.

For this coming semester, we are in process of arranging a meeting to discuss academic values and ethics. Our guests will be Prof. Mary Rowe and Ms. Toni Robinson of the Ombuds Office. Details will be announced by early September.
