Important Dates & Deadlines for Associates
As you get ready for a full year of Associate Advising, please make sure to note important dates involving the registration of your advisees and leadership training opportunities for you. We suggest that you check this page regularly, as it alerts you to important events and dates.
A schedule and description of Fall Leadership Development Training opportunities are still available.
Spring opportunities for Leadership Development will be announced by mid-November.
Important Fall Dates
Wednesday, November 18 |
Drop Date: Make sure that your advisees have dropped any classes that they are not attending. Help them evaluate whether or not to drop any classes for which they have been flagged. |
Thursday, November 19 |
No Flip Flops: Preparing for Winter
This program is for freshmen who are interested in learning how to cope with the New England winters. Your advisees will find out how to shop, eat, and dress. Invite them!
Door prizes, take away gifts, and delicious food will be available. |
Tuesday, December 1 |
Online Pre-Registration for IAP and Spring Term begins. All students pre-register online.
Remind your advisess to pre-register and offer help with class selection. |
Tuesday, December 8

Finals Preparation: This program is for freshmen. Invite your admisees to take a break and talk to upper-class students about study strategies that have helped them succeed with finals. |

Stress Prevention Activities (SPA): Escape your MIT books for a while to visit the UAAP! Invite your advisees to stop in for a some healthy snacks, to relax and talk to staff and other students.
S.P.A. is hosted by the UAAP and the Health Educators from the Center for Health Promotion and Wellness. |
