Important Early Fall Dates

Wednesday, August 19

Online Freshman Advising Folder becomes available to freshmen and advisors. See the Class of 2012 for freshman access information and the advisors site for advisor details.

Monday, August 25, from 12:00-2:00 pm, in Room 32-123 (Kirsch Auditorium, Stata)

Associate Advisor & Advisor Orientation: We urge ALL advisors and associate advisors, whether new or returning, to attend this Orientation session. You'll hear informative (and entertaining) presentations by instructors of first-year subjects and heads of required programs. These will give you up-to-date information to use while registering your advisees. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

If you're not able to attend this training, please inform your freshman advisor and request a set of handouts from Leslie Bottari, bottari@mit.edu.

Wednesday, August 27

Introductory Advising Group Meeting: At this meeting you will help your advisor schedule individual meetings with your advises for the following day, August 30th.  Please make sure to contact your advisor in early-August to make sure that you know when and where you are expected.

Thursday, August 28 from 8 am-5 pm

Individual Registration Meetings: Be sure that either you or your advisor, let each advisee know the room number and time slot for their individual registration meeting. If your advisor's office is hard to find, please provide directions and a telephone number that advisees can call if they get lost.

Tuesday, September 2

REGISTRATION DAY--Fall Term. Should any of your freshman advisees have a schedule conflict, staff from the Registrar's Office will be available in Johnson Athletics Center from 9 am to 5 pm. They can help students resolve any conflicts between lectures and recitation sections, and answer other questions.

Wednesday, September 3
